The Halos' No. 9 prospect pitched a career-high six scoreless innings on Saturday night as the Class A Cedar Rapids Kernels held on for a 4-3 victory over the Clinton LumberKings.

Bedrosian, the 29th overall selection in 2010, recorded 13 outs before Mariners' No. 18 prospect Guillermo Pimentel singled in the fifth for the LumberKings' first hit.

The 20-year-old right-hander also yielded singles to Jamal Austin and Daniel Paolini in the sixth but was otherwise strong. No LumberKing advanced past second base against Bedrosian, who struck out four while walking three.

The result moved his record to 1-5 and bumped his ERA down to 5.23 though eight Midwest League starts. The Georgia prep product missed all of 2011 and the first month of this season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Typically, hurlers recovering from the procedure are challenged to rediscover control of their repertoires. Bedrosian, who features a slider and changeup to go along with his fastball, has walked 19 batters (against 16 strikeouts) over his first 31 innings.

Kernels closer Ty Kelley earned his 10th save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Angels' No. 4 prospect Kaleb Cowart doubled, singled and plated a run for the Kernels, raising his average to .292 through 59 games.

LumberKings starter Ambioris Hidalgo (2-8) gave up three runs on five hits, including a two-run homer to Frazier Hall in the third, over five frames.

Hall also homered on Friday and has seven longballs this season.
