Tyler Wilson Allowed One Run on Three Hits over Seven Innings on the Night

LYNCHBURG, VA - With two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, DH Kyle Kubitza belted a walk-off home run to right-center off RHP Tommy Winegardner to give the Hillcats a 3-2 victory over the Keys. Lynchburg tied Wednesday night's contest up at two in the bottom of the ninth inning on a Matt Lipka RBI single. In his eighth start of the season, RHP Tyler Wilson did not factor in the decision. Wilson surrendered just one run on three hits while striking out six.

The Keys struck first on evening in the top of the second inning. Facing RHP A.J. Holland, Nicky Delmonico led off the inning with a walk. After Holland retired Steve Bumbry and Jason Esposito, RF Brenden Webb hit a double into left field. Delmonico advanced to third on the play. LF Johnny Ruettiger followed up Webb and lifted a single into left. Delmonico and Webb scored on the play to put Frederick in front 2-0.

Following the second inning, the Keys would register just one more hit.

Lynchburg cut their deficit in half in the bottom of the second inning. With one out, RF David Rohm hit a double to right field. Kyle Kubitza, who entered Wednesday's contest with one hit in May, singled home Rohm to make it a 2-1 game.

Tyler Wilson tossed five shutout frames to end his night. Wilson threw a season-high seven innings on the night and allowed one run on three hits.

Wilson's counterpart, A.J. Holland allowed two runs on three hits over six innings on the night.

The Hillcats tied up the game in the bottom of the eighth. With SS Elmer Reyes on second, CF Matt Lipka lined a pitch off Tommy Winegardner to right-center. Reyes scored from second on the play to even the game at two.

After the Keys went down without a run in the top of the ninth, Lynchburg ended the game in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the inning. With two outs, Kyle Kubitza came to the plate against Tommy Winegardner. Kubitza belted a solo home run to right-center. Kubitza's first homer of the season gave the Hillcats a 3-2 victory over the Keys.

Wilson Rivera (3-0) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Lynchburg while Tommy Winegarder (1-1) got the loss.

Frederick and Lynchburg will play the rubbermatch of their three-game series on Thursday night. LHP Tim Berry (2-2, 2.31) will start on the hill for the Keys while the Hillcats will turn to RHP James Hoyt (2-1, 3.77). First pitch from Calvin Falwell Field at City Stadium is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. with coverage on 1450 AM The Source set to begin at 5:30 p.m. with the Frederick Gorilla Pregame Show.
